“My 2-year-old is obsessed with trucks and construction vehicles. At first, I just did not understand why so many kids are so into them. Even after watching my son play with them for months on end, I still just did not get it! But as I started noticing more and more trucks on the road, I started appreciating just how the variety in shape, color, and assembly in even one kind of truck was actually really interesting. I found myself mentally ”collecting” trucks and wanting to paint them. I experimented with different canvas material, medium, and kinds of texture, and this has been the most fun series I’ve ever done. Of course, this might have something to do with my son’s shrieks of excitement when he sees the paintings. Now, our whole family checks out trucks and “collect” them when we drive and I can’t remember how on earth I ever didn’t “get it” before!”
